1. Job: Senior Engineer, Piping
An International Operating Company in Lagos, Nigeria is looking to recruit a Senior Piping Engineer. The purpose of the job is to provide piping engineering expertise to aid in the
execution of the Company’s onshore and offshore projects and ongoing operations.• Co-ordinate the pipeline construction engineering and constructability aspects of projects to ensure that objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule with available construction equipment, assets and resources.

    Monitor and review Contractors pipeline engineering effort, ensure constructability and make recommendations to Senior Engineering Co-ordinator.
    Draft/ review/ approve the pipeline route survey and pipelay work processes.
    Prepare the documentation required by the necessary regulatory bodies with special reference to the pipeline route survey and laying works.
    Prepare and maintain the BOD for the pipeline project in order to ensure that all disciplines work to consistent and up-to-date information. The BOD will be maintained in a “current” condition throughout the project phases by regular review and updates.
    Develop specifications for material selection, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the various pipelines in service with Company.
    Maintain pipeline records of all existing pipelines in order to avoid unplanned pipeline crossings, etc.
    Co-ordinate land acquisitions and secure pipeline right of way (ROW) easement.
    Co-ordinate and develop pipeline engineering plans and specifications including pig launchers and receivers, leak detection systems and flow measurements.
    Ensure that our cleints quality control procedures are being followed while performing the various tasks on the project as per QMS and PQP.
    Perform construction engineering calculations for onshore and offshore pipelines, in accordance with international codes and standards, good engineering practice and specific project requirements.
    Interact with other disciplines as required for design development on projects and with Contractors / Vendors / PSC department. Co-ordinate with other lead engineers for interdisciplinary tasks.
    Identify issues that impede project progress and report to the Senior Engineering Co-ordinator.
    Prepare and present man-hour estimates, PEP and weekly reports, progress reports, etc as required.
    Technically evaluate and specify equipment and services associated with pipeline route survey, pipeline installation, PLEM installation, sub-sea mattress installation, subsea pipeline crossing construction, etc.
    Ensure the implementation of HSE requirements throughout all the phases of pipeline system design.
    To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
    Co-ordinate and maintain pipelines environmental assessment studies and developing mitigation strategies.
    Identify new methodology of work process required for higher productivity.
    Carry out conceptual studies, including techno-economic feasibility studies for optimum pipeline design development.
    Provide offshore pipelay barge engineering support as well as other interdisciplinary support should the requirement arise.
    Carry out site visits, offshore and onshore, as required, to confirm that the works is being executed by Contractor as specified in the Contract and with optimum planning.
    Monitor and approve as-built documentation prepared by construction contractor, perform walk-throughs where necessary and prepare close-out reports.
    May occasionally be required to act in the capacity of consultant and produce discreet work package deliverables.
    To provide input to Front End/Conceptual/Detail Engineering studies with respect to pipeline design, constructability and operating issues.

Requirements

    University Engineering Degree (Mechanical)
    Minimum of twenty (15) years relevant experience with an oil industry design and fabrication contractor
    Must have worked in as a piping engineer/senior piping engineer for an Operator and have been involved in both onshore and offshore projects
    Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment
    Must have worked in an expatriate situation for at least five (5) years

    Work Cycle: Monday - Saturday (07:30 - 16:30 hrs, with additional hours as operationally required).
    Rotation: National Resident Contract position.

2. Job: Offshore Mechanical/NDT Inspector

Urgent Requirement
Job description Offshore Mechanical/NDT Inspector

    Review all NDT procedures and assist in approval.
    Ensure NDT operators are qualified, certified and competent to do the job. Ensure the equipment is suitable for the job, calibrated and in good condition.
    Monitor the performance of NDT activities including interpretation of results.
    Verify NDT works by audit if required.
    Ensure NDT records including radiographic films are properly kept, maintained, packed and easily retrievable.
    Ensure that NDT Contractor comply with the safety requirement during the transportation, storage and use of radioactive sources.
    Ensure results of NDT are correct and satisfy the acceptance level of work requirement.
    Participate in the resolution of the quality problems as directed by QA Engineer.
    Prepare schedules covering his works when required by project controls section.
    Assist in preparation of field change notices, extra work orders and back charge notices when required.
    Anticipate and take corrective actions to prevent quality problems, failures, defective works and deficient reports.
    Submit daily work activity report and other reports as required.
    Ensure safety standards and requirements are observed and bring policy matters to attention of superiors

Requirements Offshore Mechanical/NDT Inspector

    Candidates are required to have Level 2 Certifications in Visual Testing and Magnetic Particle Testing in accordance with EN ISO 9712 or PCN.
    In addition to the certificate EN ISO 9712 or PCN, the profile must be qualified according to API RP 2 X standard

Job description Principal Engineer-Civil

    To act as a focal point/technical authority for geotechnical and civil engineering questions in Company
    To liaise/brainstorm with client department key personnel to prepare PIN’s (Project Initiation Notes), design briefs and a “Business Case” (where required) for their proposed onshore and offshore geotechnical and civil engineering.
    To prepare a detailed Basis of Design for every design proposal, based on the agreed Design Brief and ensure proper documentation on APD(N)L’s Papyrus application.
    To prepare/negotiate work scopes, schedules and budgets for executing geo-technical and civil engineering design services by self or consultant resources and refine the optimum scope of work for individual designs/projects, so as to achieve the best value-for-money whilst still satisfying the essential requirements of the APD(N)L client department.
    To execute any required design for the works, either by self or consultant resources, working in co-operation with the APD(N)L client department to ensure their technical requirements and functionality are adequately addressed.
    To supervise any consultant design work, verifying adequacy of drawings and specifications to ensure that they meet Company standards and relevant industry codes
    To update and maintain a database of geotechnical information for all Addax, i.e. APD(N)L and SLNL (Shoreline) locations and include them in a geotechnical map that can easily be updated and referred to for future projects, facilities maintenance works and project upgrades.
    To initiate/update and maintain “as-built” drawings for all company locations showing geotechnical as well as vertical/horizontal survey and underground/above ground facilities details.
    To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies and installation delays.
    To assist Company / Alliance resident and/or project engineers with the civil engineering aspects of Facilities design.
    To provide geotechnical and civil engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
    To assist construction and commissioning teams with technical questions encountered during the construction phase of the projects.)

    To assist in the professional development of Nigerian geotechnical and civil engineers.

Requirements Principal Engineer-Civil

    University Engineering Degree (Civil) – 2nd Class Honours or better
    An MSc in Civil Engineering or Geotechnics will be a distinct advantage
    Registration with COREN is necessary for this position.
    Membership of professional bodies such as NSE (Nigeria), ICE (UK) and ASCE (USA) is desirable but not necessary.
    Minimum of 20 years post-graduate experience, at least 12 of which must have been in a management position, working in the oil and gas industry.
    Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment

    This company has a long track record of being one of the world leaders in project management, engineering and construction for the oil and gas industry.

Requirements

    Responsible to manage EPC engineering deliverables on behalf of the Owner and to supervise and manage all engineering works undertaken and executed by the EPC Contractor/ subcontractors.
    B.s. or equivalent Degree in Engineering with twenty (20) years relevant experience in oil & gas industry.
    Must have been in Consultant's organization for at least five (S) years in similar position.
    Particular experience in projects done in oversees will be added qualification for work.
    Must be fully familiar with international codes & standards to be applied during EPC phase of oil & gas projects.
    Shall have handled FEED Engineers and the deliverables produced by them. Shall be able to interpret Owner's specifications & standards intended for the Project and direct EPC Contractor accordingly.
    Should be able to provide direction and guidance on Contractor's Technical Queries and towards successful compilation of final engineering documents and handover dossiers.
    Should possess coordination / communication skills and very good knowledge of spoken and written English language.
