The Role

Job Purpose:
Construction Engineer is required to work at the project site offices (Contractor's fabrication yards). Ensure that the work of the contractors to be completed in accordance with the EPCIC scope of work and contractual terms & conditions, required technical quality, committed timeframe and approved budget.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist the CPP&LQ Leader, and/or WHP Leader to supervise and control work of fabrication contractor to be completed as planned and in accordance with contractual terms & conditions, required quality, engineering specification, committed timeframe and approved budget.
  • Review and comment all fabrication engineering procedures and drawings including reports, to ensure that they are generated in compliance with project specifications and international standards, and as per Company's requirement.
  • In close cooperation with the engineering team, assist for preparation of answers to all Contractor query relation to construction matters
  • Review and provide advice on any changes to the original design proposed by contractor.
  • Troubleshoot any problems occurred during construction/fabrication and pre-commissioning phases and provide solutions/ suggestion to contractors as appropriate. Keep the Project Team updated of the work progress, problems/obstacles, corrective actions and support required, if any.
  • Review and comment all documents and procedure issued for the load-out and sea fastening
  • Coordinate the load out and sea-fastening of equipments to ensure that all SSHE requirements are adhered to in accordance with Company's standard and international best practices.
SSHE responsibilities:
  • Cultivate and promote good SSHE attitude to all project personnel and contractors, ensuring safety as the Project's first priority.
  • Work closely with Project SSHE to ensure the safe delivery of the Project to promote the realization of Project's
  • SSHE objectives.
  • Proactively intervene where SSHE anomalies are identified and report them to SSHE.
  • Report all incidents, accidents and near misses whether a loss has occurred or not.
  • Regularly attend and lead Project SSHE meetings as necessary. Attend training, audits and inspections and direct team incumbents to do the same.
  • Attend safety tours & inspections, and Contractor's and Project's SSHE Meetings as required.

Management from recognised tertiary institutions

Draughtsman - CONTISS 04
Candidates should possess Trade Certificate obtained from a Government Trade Centre or any other approved Institution. Candidates should also possess in addition to the above SSCE/GCE ‘O’Level with Credit in five (5) Subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Computer Literacy and ability to communicate effectively would be added advantage.
